A few years ago, Kanye West was forced to leave the stage in the middle of his performance due to a lack of technical concerns at the event. Now that is a big problem, but with the right tools, the issue could have easily been avoided. Small or large events, a small issue can have a lasting impact on your brand as an event management company.

We all know that we all have little problems that we work out by the next time. However, you may not need to go through this on your own. So we’ve compiled a list of some of the hiccups we’ve faced with music solutions in our events.

Firstly, Let’s start with a basic checklist of solutions you’ll need for an event.

1. Microphone.

2. PA speakers

3. Mixing boards.

4. Monitors

5. Cables

6. Amplifier

7. Mixer

8. Equalizer.

9. Earplugs

10.Live Mixing DAWs.

11. Lights

This is the gear that you will need at pretty for every event. It makes sense slowly picking up gear in installments until you have a complete set. Although most beginners start with renting out all their equipment, the overheads prove to be very difficult to cope with in the long haul, and you will eventually need these equipment to start being able to make good money in the field.

PA speakers: With speakers you might get multiple problems like connection issues, etc.

1. Connect to several devices before an event begins, and keep a variety of cable formats on hand.

2. Wireless speakers feature a battery, keep a timeline to change the battery or check post events. .

3. Cover the speakers properly, as they may be damaged under certain weather conditions.

Environment: You never know what environment you’ll be playing in. So always be ready with necessary bags and technological settings to tweak your setup to remedy any faults.

Cables: Cables are parts of your kit that see the most wear and tear.

1. Stomping, twisting, turning, your cables need to weather through it all. Heavy duty cables are a must, otherwise you will find yourself replacing cables all the time.

2. Always keep spare cables and all the adapters that you could possibly need.

3. Try your best to stick to a particular brand of cables. This will ensure that you get even quality throughout.

Microphone and stand: The quality of the output, depends on the quality of the input. Investing in a good sturdy(trust me this is one of the most important factors) Mic set is important. Low quality mics sound bad, and often aren’t worth the hassle, forcing you to pick up a new set sooner than you would have liked. Use a good stand to connect it, as most users will unknowingly drop it, any types of falls would damage the delicate parts of a mic.

Mixer: Behind the scenes, this is the powerhouse of your event sound. Although this is a behind the scenes device, the result of using a high quality mixer is on display loud and clear, so to speak.

Amplifiers are an important part of any audio setup. Premium grade amps result in premium sound. This is a big investment, but good quality amps last 10s of years, sometimes much longer than that too.

Lights form an important part of any event, and you need lots of them. They add charm and spectacle to an event, and are a showcase for attendees to know they have arrived. Investing in lights is really important, as they give you the versatility to build unique visual treats just by making a few adjustments. They form a vital part of your word of mouth marketing, and if done right we can assure you guests will be raving about your event for months to come.

Other items that are variables are the decor that you need for your event. Rent these for sure. This gives you the flexibility to create unique events each time.
